Abstract
This study examines the story of Prophet Noah (A.S.) in the Qur'an, particularly in Surah Hud [11]: 25–49, through the perspective of Tafsir Maqa>s}idi>. The main focus is to explore how this narrative is interpreted when analyzed through the objectives of Islamic law (Maqa>s}id al-Sharī‘ah) and to uncover its relevance within contemporary life.
This research employs a qualitative library-based method grounded in the theoretical framework of Tafsir Maqa>s}idi> as developed by scholars such as Abdul Mustaqim and Ibn ‘Āshūr. The findings indicate that the story of Prophet Noah is not merely a historical account but is rich with moral and social messages essential for shaping a civilized society. Values such as faith, the struggle of prophetic mission, social responsibility, and the importance of leadership demonstrate how the Maqa>s}idi> approach can offer a fresh and contextual perspective in understanding narrative verses in the Qur'an.
