BIMBINGAN MODERASI BERAGAMA DI GKJ PAKEM GEDUNG TANEN SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KERUKUNAN MASYARAKAT

Abstrak

Religious moderation is a concept or perspective, attitude, and religious practice that places a value of balance, is not extreme or excessive, and does not ignore religious teachings so that religious communities can live side by side peacefully, harmoniously, and respect each other in a pluralistic society. The Javanese Christian Church (GKJ) Pakem plays a vital role in maintaining interfaith harmony in Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region. The existence of GKJ Pakem makes a positive contribution in creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in a diverse society. The Javanese Christian Church (GKJ) Pakem also faces various challenges. One of the main challenges is dealing with various differing views in society. In a society often divided by various views and beliefs, the Javanese Christian Church (GKJ) Pakem must strive to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding between adherents of different religions. Another challenge is dealing with various forms of discrimination and prejudice that still exist in society. What is the role of GKJ Pakem Gedung Tanen as a religious institution in fostering interfaith harmony in the community? The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the GKJ Pakem Gedung Tanen as a religious institution in fostering interfaith harmony in the community. The research method used is qualitative. The existence of GKJ Pakem in guiding religious moderation has had positive impacts, such as increased mutual respect, reduced conflict, and the creation of a peaceful atmosphere in the community.
This study utilizes Bimo Walgito's theory of social interaction. GKJ Pakem actively promotes harmony through various activities and programs, such as community service with predominantly Muslim villagers, collaboration in maintaining security in places of worship, and a scholarship program for students in need.
