Abstract
This study examines Serat Donga Kasah, a manuscript preserved in the Sonobudoyo Museum Library, Yogyakarta, under catalog number SB 147 16. The manuscript contains prayers written in Arabic and Javanese in prose form using the Arabic-Pegon script. Through a philological study, this research provides a physical and textual description of the manuscript, including transliteration and translation analysis. The findings reveal that Serat Donga Kasah consists of three main sections: (1) praises to Allah SWT, referencing Asmaul Husna; (2) statements of repentance as an acknowledgment of mistakes and a plea for forgiveness; (3) and supplications asking Allah for ease in life. Based on the type of paper used, the manuscript was written after the mid-20th century. It remains intact and is accessible in digital form. This study highlights the significance of Serat Donga Kasah within the corpus of Islamic manuscripts in the Nusantara, particularly in the tradition of supplication and spirituality in pesantren. The prayers in this manuscript reflect strong theological and Sufi aspects, demonstrating the influence of traditional Islamic teachings within Javanese culture. This research is expected to serve as a reference for philological studies and Islamic studies in Indonesia.
