Abstract

The era of globalization, Nusantara Quranic exegesis faces significant challenges, including cultural homogenization, which promotes global cultural dominance, and Islamic purification, which tends to reject local elements in religious understanding. This condition threatens the loss of local wisdom that has long integrated with Islamic values. This study examines the process of acculturation between Quranic values and local traditions in Nusantara Quranic exegesis, exploring both opportunities and challenges arising in globalization. A qualitative method is employed through a literature review, analyzing relevant sources related to the theme. The findings reveal that the acculturation between Quranic values and local traditions plays a vital role in maintaining the relevance of Islamic teachings amid global changes. In this context, Nusantara Quranic exegesis acts as a bridge, connecting the Quran with local traditions without creating divisions or contradictory dichotomies. This research aims to contribute to the development of more contextual Quranic exegesis studies, offering an inclusive approach to address globalization's challenges. Future studies are encouraged to use more diverse primary sources, adopt interdisciplinary approaches, and compare Nusantara Quranic exegesis with intellectual traditions from other regions to gain deeper, more comprehensive insights.
